It is said that in a gap in the very thick wall which separates the castle from the Villa buried the anti-Pope Maurice Bordino. In the annals of Ludovico Antonio Muratori it is stated that Bordino was made anti-Pope by Henry V in opposition to Gelasius II in 1118, previously Bishop of Brage, he held the Papal throne for two years with the help of the imperial army. He took the of the Gregory VIII. When Pope Gelasius II died, Callisto II became the legitimate pope with the help of the Cardinal of Crema.Bordino was defeated at Sutri and imprisoned firstly at Imola and than at Fumone(April 23 1121) from whence a continued his rebellion. He was assassinated in 1128.A Latin epigraph laid on the spot where he is presumed to be buried  attests to these facts.
